The Perennial Plant Association has chosen Geranium 'Rozanne' as the Plant of the Year of 2008.
This cranesbill is know for its very long bloom period-from late spring through August. This strong perormer was discoverd in England in 1989 and has been a mainstay in gardens for many years. The flowers are a deep irredescent blue with purple veining and showy white centers. The mounded plant reaches a size of 20 to 24 inches tall and 24 to 28 inches high. It is happiest in full sun to partial shade and will slowly spread to fill in with moist oraganic soil. The marbeled foliage turns red in the fall. 'Rozanne' is hardy in zones 5 to 8.
